COMMUNITY SERVICE
Afghan Refugee Project
The spring of 2021 still brings images to my mind as the world witnessed the Taliban takeover of Kabul. Viewing such news headlines, one can feel helpless as we see the full-blown terror in the eyes of Afghans.
The moment we came to know that our community will be welcoming Afghan refugees, we teamed up with the International Rescue Committeeto figure out how we can be of assistance. It turns out that there were some basic necessities that the organization was collecting. As of current, the IRC is in need of bed sheets. So here we are, hosting our bed sheet drive and hoping that we meet our goal of 100 new/unused bed sheets.
Monetary donations are accepted too, as we will use it to purchase the bed sheets ourselves. Click here to make your contribution.
For those who wish to do more, please reach out to us so we can connect you to other Rotary clubs and organizations focusing on providing for refugees from Afghanistan.
