President's Message
Community Service
District 5170
Rotary International
The year 2021 is coming to an end. Covid-19 is still in the news. We were fortunate enough to be able to celebrate our Thanksgiving in a better way compared to the 2020 celebration. We were blessed and fortunate to be able to continue with our Rotary service. Our club continued to take part in different activities and still planning to do many more services to the community at large. Your participation this year was highly appreciated. Thank you!
We join Rotary to serve and give back to our community and the world at large. Rotary community have adapted and innovated with the changes in society. Our Passport Club is an example of this.
Please continue to contribute to The Rotary Foundation, together we will not only serve to change the lives of others, but we will also change our own lives.
Krishna Reddy
President 2021 - 2022
The Rotary Club of Silicon Valley Passport is a service club dedicated to improving the lives of others both in our community and around the world. As a Rotary Passport Club we encourage our members to engage in service in ways that fit within their work, family, and life commitments.
Heart of the Valley
"Reindeer" Project
One of the most vulnerable groups that is most impacted by this long running pandemic is seniors. Many of them have been deprived of human interactions during this pandemic. Our club members expressed interest in helping out the senior community during our annual community service survey earlier this year. This holiday season, our club has teamed up with Heart of the Valley, a South Bay based nonprofit organization providing services to seniors in our community. Many of our club members signed up to be Santa’s Reindeers to deliver gifts to seniors in their neighborhood. We are grateful for this opportunity for our club to bring some cheer to seniors in our community.

Community Services Chair
Krishna Reddy and Maya Rajaram delivered gifts to two seniors in Santa Clara.
Mahesh Nihalani made three gift deliveries in Sunnyvale.
Other Reindeer volunteers - Ramesh Hariharan, Meena Kandukuri, Lisa Akselrad and Madhu Krishnan.
Recycling and Donation Event in East Palo Alto
Our club participated in the Recycling and Donation event on November 13, 2021 organized by Rotary Club of East Palo Alto Bayshore. This Donation Drive generated funds for community projects in East Palo Alto. Our members donated recyclables, as well as volunteered to help load donated items into the Goodwill truck. Volunteers were: Amy and Ravi Menon, Krishna Reddy, Rachel Ong, and Maya Rajaram.
We had a fun day! There was a constant stream of vehicles loaded with electronic and house hold recyclables, which kept us on our toes. In the end, we managed to fill the Goodwill truck which would mean more $$ for service projects in East Palo Alto.
Raised $500 for Bike Locks
by Krishna Reddy, President
Cupertino Rotary Club, championed by Shyamoli Banerjee, a Community Service project for Uplift Family Service in San Jose.
As per their request, 39 bikes were being donated to their families, with helmets and locks as Christmas presents.
Cupertino Rotary Club was running short on funds and approached our club to support and partner with them to complete the project. Our board member Mahesh Nihalani took the initiative and approached our members to come together to raise $500. As we do not have DDF funds, individuals came forward and pooled the funds in a true Rotarian spirit.
I am proud to be part of this wonderful group!
Thank You for Your Contributions!
