This was a great project to kick start our Rotary year! West Valley Community Services needed volunteers to help them with their Back to School Program. Children would receive a backpack full of school supplies and new clothes for the school year.
A big Thank You to our members who volunteered to help -- Anandi, Meenakshi, Krishna R., Max, Tammy, and Rachel.
Our members met at Westgate Mall in San Jose to begin their shift from 6:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.Rachel volunteered at the "Thank You" station while Anandi, Meenakshi, Krishna R., Max, and Tammy became volunteer chaperones to assist the children choose the clothes they needed for school. Old Navy was the designated store.

"I helped guided the traffic at the "Thank you" station. This is where the parent / children
can sign a thank you note to the volunteers and sponsors. Then they will get a ticket to
pick a back pack, books and gift certificate for shoes. It was so nice to see people from all background forming together to help our community." -- Rachel.
